My favourite is the OS Maps app – if you have a map of your local area from Ordnance Survey, you can download it for free on your phone, and then plot routes on it. If you don’t already have a GPX file, there are many free, online tools to help create one. And, lastly, you need to have the GPX file you want to upload stored on your computer. There are ways to do it without Garmin Connect, but using Connect is definitely worth it, and it gives your watch many more features. You also need the Garmin Connectapp on your smartphone.
